Ken Yagelski has managed various functions in both the electric power and natural gas industry for more than twenty years. He has been responsible for capacity and commodity planning, contracting, sourcing, optimization, engineering and operations activities; with particular emphasis on Midwest and Mid-Atlantic natural gas markets.
Mr. Yagelski received his Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Electrical Engineering at Purdue University and is registered by the Gas Technology Institute as a Gas Distribution Professional. His career has spanned three decades critical to the evolution of the natural gas industry. Ken has participated in establishing policy for interstate pipeline deregulation (1980s), created programs for competitive retail service markets (1990s), and changed the utility’s capacity cost management function into a revenue center through asset optimization (2000s).
Ken has been an expert witness in several regulatory proceedings and government hearings, a regular guest instructor for courses conducted by the American Gas Association, the Wisconsin Public Utilities Institute and the Gas Technology Institute and a speaker at energy industry events.
Throughout his career, Ken has held various leadership and committee positions with professional and community organizations, including the American Gas Association (AGA), the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG).
