Lisa Bakewell’s Summary

I have extensive experience with writing for trade publications including The Engravers Journal, Fabricator, Massage & Bodywork, Incentive, Cabling Business Magazine, Towing and Recovery Footnotes and International Bowling Industry Magazine. I write corporate/personal profiles as well as general business information pieces.

Additionally, I write for women's consumer magazines in the areas of household finance and savings, health and exercise, family, and general "how-to". I love reading magazines and I love writing for them!

Currently, I act as a City Ambassador and Discussion Leader for Gannett's Chicago MomsLikeMe.com social website for moms. I am responisble for membership growth through the creation of sponsorships and events, and I engage members in conversation on the website.

I also contribut to "Common Sense", an editorial column in The Herald News, a member of the Sun-Times News Group. I love writing this column because I can write whatever's on my mind that month.

Editing experience includes two volumes for Omnigraphic's Teen Health Series. My job consisted of creating an outline, finding documents to support my outline (either public domain or copyrighted material), editing the documents, and keying the books for typesetting.
