Born in the Cordillera, Philippines & raised in Hawaii, WQ lived in New York City for 18 years until 2007 collaborating with other artists, performing across the USA and overseas with various groups such as Ping Chong & Co. One of three co-founders of SLANT- a resident company of La Mama Theatre since 1995, and critically reviewed in the New York Times, Village Voice, and DanceInsider.com among others. Among a handful of authentic arts and spiritual teachers who he learned from are Dr. Usopay Cadar, Danongan Kalanduyan, Philip Gushee formerly of the Neighborhood Playhouse, Phyllis Lamhut, Bessie Schoenberg, Swamis Bodhananda & Tadatmananda, S.N. Goenka, and I Nyoman Sumandhi. Also a minister ordained through the Interfaith Temple of the New Seminary- NYC, WQ offers to serve those who seek to have unique and meaningful ceremonies via a collaborative creative process for a wedding or commitment ceremony, or other life transitions such as the birth of a child, baby naming, moving, among other possibilities to fulfill a desire for life-transition rituals. Along with 63 classmates WQ successfully completed the two-year coursework with The New Seminary- an educational institution and NGO at the U.N., as part of a process of integrating spiritual inquiry with 21 years experience in the performing arts. WQ is interested in collaborating and working with free-thinkers whose consciousness are rooted in respect for the earth, adventurers delving into an exploration of one's inner life including artists, scholars, entrepeneurs, and others who value integrity above ideology, as well as light-hearted aspirants who appreciate social satire and humor.

Have served on grants panels for the National Endowment for the Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Dance USA, Asian American Arts Alliance. Cast member for the Obie-award winning play- "The Romance of Magno Rubio," Kumu Kahua Theatre- March 13-April 13, 2008.
