I am now an Assistant Professor at Communication & Multimedia Lab (CMLab), CSIE & GINM, National Taiwan University since February 2007 and the founder of MiRA (Multimedia indexing, Retrieval, and Analysis) Research Group.
I had my PhD study in Columbia University under the supervision of Prof. Shih-Fu Chang since Spring 2002. Before that, I had worked for years in a prominent multimedia software start-up, CyberLink Corp., where experiencing Engineer, Project Leader, and R&D Manager. I am also a CMLab alumnus cooperating with Prof. Jau Huang.
My research interests fall in multimedia content analysis and large-scale multimedia retrieval.
- Analysis/search/mining of multimedia content including image, video, audio, and text
- Exploitation of large-scale database or unstructured data from heterogeneous sources
- Investigation of machine learning and information retrieval approaches
- Realizing advanced researches towards business deliverables
