Strategist at iris Digital
London, United Kingdom
I'm a strategist for iris Digital in London, a marketing / advertising agency. Currently working with clients such as Shell, VW Commercial Vehicles, Disney Channel, Sony Ericsson, Hertz, and Brown-Forman.
I orginally started after university as a 3D graphic designer for a studio in Paris, creating interior and exhibition spaces for a variety of clients.
I then changed directions with an opportunity to start working in the areas of Coaching, Training & Development with Landmark Education in Paris and then in London.
I managed teams of up to 20 people in the preparation of training programmes for up to 200 participants (registrations, administration, event management, coaching participants in programs...). I was also trained to present programmes and seminars for up to 30 people.
Finally, my last position before the one I hold was as a specialist recruitment consultant for digital and integrated marketing agencies.
One could say I have an eclectic professional background, although I have always pursued interests in communication on one side (How people communicate, make choices, areas relating to ontology, sociology, psychology, etc) and digital technologies on the other (Self confessed Internet addict, active in social media, interested in using digital across media to create gaming and narrative experiences, etc).
Coaching, Business Development, Design and Digital Industry knowledge, web development technologies (knowledge of, not practice), Negotiation, Communication, Leadership, Management, Human Resources, Recruitment, strategy, marketing, planning, social media, ARGs, gaming, business strategy, marketing strategy, rich media, online display advertising, online, account management

The primary focus in my role as a strategist is to devise ways to leverage all and any relevant digital channels in order to achieve our clients business objectives while ensuring digital is at least consistent with other marketing activities - even best if they are amplified by smart uses of digital.

My responsibilities include:
- Researching and staying up to date with digital innovations
- Think of ways to apply digital technologies for marketing purposes (from simple to intricate)
- Evangelising digital and educating clients and colleagues (Or outside, eg. Presentation to marketing students at Middlesex University)
- Bridge the gap between business requirements and creatively engaging with consumers; writing the brief for our creative teams
- Build presentations to explain and sell solutions to our clients
- Manage or oversee social media aspects of marketing campaigns
- Measure outcome of campaigns and report.
Areas of personal interest are particularly within social media, gaming and ARGs, rich media, integrating digital with other media.
