After Modern History at Christ Church, Oxford, I was articled to Hugh Johnson at Biddle & Co (now part of Pinsent Masons). Qualifying in 1979, and following work in London and Bristol, I joined Ashfords in 1996.

I am a mainstream corporate transactional specialist: acquisitions and disposals, management buy outs, equity and VC investments, and corporate strategy and restructuring for exit and succession.

I hold a number of non-executive directorships and trusteeships in the South West, am involved in the wider business community in the Region, and have been teaching and thinking about legal ethics and professional conduct for much of my professional career.

As a speaker at various seminars and workshops, I cover risk and risk management, professional conduct and conflicts of interest, entrepreneurship and enterprise.
