    GF Partnership are a specialist Quantity Surveying and Dispute Resolution business providing support services to clients, contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry. I joined the company as Placement Co-ordinator in more of an HR/sourcing role, however this has developed over the years and I now work in a full recruitment position.

    I am responsible for all recruitment (contract mostly, but also permanent) and business development across eight counties in an area that includes Central/North London and the northern Home Counties.

    Duties include interviewing surveyors, preparing proposals, providing welfare to the team, identifying and developing relationships with potential new clients, development of existing client relationships, administration of web-based advertising, statistical reporting, preparing contract documentation, processing preferred supplier applications.

    I have also been involved in many individual projects including overseas recruitment, business/social networking, client surveys and website redesign.

    Culligan are a water treatment business who have been in operation for over 70 years. With manufacturing and retail plants across the country they employed approximately 300 staff when I joined the company in 2004.

    Based at Head Office, I carried out full HR administration for the UK business, reporting in to the HR Officer. Duties included issuing contracts/new starter paperwork, reporting (on headcount, sickness, annual leave monitoring, etc.), updating of company procedures, providing legal advice to managers and staff, assisting with disciplinary, grievance and redundancy procedures.

    My biggest achievement in this role was when I took over full HR duties, company-wide, for a three-month period while the HR Officer was on secondment.

    Connections Worldwide are a tour operator specialising in tailor-made holidays to Canada, America, Asia and Australasia. I was employed in the Reservations Department but, due to my administration and IT skills, also helped out regularly in the Administration Department.

    I worked in a call centre environment answering queries about holidays selling and up-selling tailor-made tours. The role involved compiling quotes and liaising with airlines, hotels and so on to ascertain costs and make bookings. I also assisted in the administration of the business through issuing tickets/travel documents and invoicing/taking monies.

Duties included issuing contracts/new starter paperwork, answering state Award (like the National Minimum Wage) queries, co-ordinating recruitment advertising, organising training events, maintaining personnel files, and assisting with payroll administration.

    I was repsonsible for the diaries and administration of three UK Business Development Managers, for all account policy adjustments, for the issuance of piece quotes (provided by our Underwriting Department), and for the setting up of new accounts.

From 2003-2005 I was a member of a synchronised ice skating team. We won gold at the British Championships in 2004 and bronze in 2005.
