Professional Public Speaker

Dan Pope Speaks, LLC

March 1982Present (32 years 7 months) Greater Salt Lake City Area

I have been trained as a Professional Public Speaker, focusing on Science, The Geological Global Climate Pendulum, Meteorology, Climatology, Astronomy, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Plate Tectonics, Geography, Weather and "Weather Fun", as well as Motivational Speaking.

I am available for Keynote Speaking Engagements, where I can be not only entertaining , but take the complicated scientific information & translate it into understandable, enjoyable & friendly, presentations! You will come away with a better understanding of the world around you & how you can make a difference going forward!

I also have experienced many challenges in my life, including managing a Bi-Polar child--and a Pars Defect in my L5 Vertebrae--that forced me into a major back fusion in 2011. I have overcome these, & other "Television Work" related obstacles--& have a positive story to share with you. It is a proactive, galvanizing & inspiring conversation for your company retreat or conference; focused on motivating and invigorating your group.

Never give up. No doesn't always mean no (right now). The only failure is the one that falls, but doesn't stand back up. I have learned how to keep standing up, even though I have been shoved to the ground, over & over again. You can learn to do this too, with me as your guide.

Or, in the case of learning more about science related subjects, I can take the complicated subject matter, and translated it into understandable, interesting & fun dialogue. I even like to add a little humor on occasion.

    Authors: Dan Pope, Clayton Brough

Utah's geology and geography have varied significantly in the past 200 million years, so looking at these many changes and covering this history in some depth, the book looks at why changes in the weather are perfectly normal. Droughts, floods, extreme snow events, heat and cold are what we have seen and will see going forward. Safety for lightning, flash floods, avalanches and other life threatening events are covered in some depth; in hopes of saving lives. Historical color (some black and white) pictures of significant weather events in Utah are in the middle of the book, while a daily almanac of historical events are categorized just before the pictures. The last sections cover 50 cities historical weather, averages for temperature, precipitation and snowfall. The final section here has the most detailed weather history for St. George and Salt Lake City that was available at the time of printing.
