I have been working both as a camera operator and editor for a number of years. Some of those I have worked for are the International Labour Organisation, Eurovision and Tout Le Contenu.
I have done a number of work experiences in France, England and Switzerland. These have included two weeks at France 2, following the making of Temps Present in Switzerland and being at Sky News in September of 2001.
I have also completed a three year course in Media Studies focusing at the University of Westminster in London, England where I was an active participant in a number of projects from the student magazine and television shows to helping post graduate journalism students with the technical side of producing news programs.
I am an experienced Final Cut Pro editor with my own editing suite and camera.
I am an advanced PADI Open Water diver

The purpose of this work experience was an observational one. For two weeks I was observing news operations within France 2. This involved following camera crews to the shoots, following editors as they did their work, Graphists as they prepared the items for airing and more.
I was able to follow the editorial process from the first morning meeting where every aspect of that day's news was discussed before the camera crews would be dispatched to their events.
I followed camera crews as they went to aquire the material and edit crews as they edited the story. I saw as they prepared the graphics for the material before finally following the process behind putting the bulletin together.
I was lucky enough to be in the studio for two or three news stories.
What I gained from that work experience was a far greater understanding of how France 2 in particular operates.
On a side note I also dropped by LCI and TF1 for a quick tour.

Temps Present is a current affairs program that is targeted to the French speaking audience of Switzerland. Every program covers stories that are of interest to the swiss populace.
During this work experience I went out on shoots and followed the editing process. I watched as the producer and his crew went to gather material that illustrates the story. In this case the story was concentrating on viticulturalists and the excess of grapes they were producing and how they wanted the government to help support them.
It involved going to a number of locations from the vineyards whilst the grapes were being picked to the pressing and fermentation tanks and finally to the Caves from which some of the wine was sold.
I also followed the editorial process from day to day. During this time I saw them gather material and edit the rushes whilst working on how best to tell the story.
Overall it gave me a good basis for the documentaries that I would later work on.

September 2001 — September 2001 (1 month)
My work experience at British Sky Broadcasting was within the Satelite News Gathering branch of Sky News. During this time I was given the opportunity to become more familiar with the day to day operations of a 24 hour news organisation.
This consisted of following SNG crews as they prefered live feedpoints and transmissions, the editing of material as it came off the circuits and more.
What made this work experience particularly interesting is that it started on the 11th of September and finished two weeks later. I was particularly interested in seeing the Satellite setup that went up for the coverage of the service at St Paul's cathedral in Central London.
