Vedran Podobnik was born on August 21st, 1982 in Zagreb, Croatia. In the year 2001 he finished Fifth High School in Zagreb as the student of the generation. He continued his education at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, where he graduated on March 7th, 2006 at the Telecommunication Department. His diploma thesis was "Software Agents in Electronic Markets".
He received the annual national award SCIENCE in the year 2007, in area of technical and biotehnical sciences. On the Agrokor company electronic business contest in the year 2007 he won the first prize for the project "Buy me". On the Ericsson Nikola Tesla company contest in the year 2005 he also won the first prize for the paper "Semantic Agent Coordination". He received two "Josip Loncar" awards for results achieved in academic years 2003./2004. and 2004./2005.
Since March 2006 he has been working at the Telecommunication Department of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing as a research associate. He has been studying as the PhD student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb.
