Senior Systems Engineer at Enterasys Networks
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Area
I have been working with both the Corporate Solutions Engineering Team, as well as fulfilling my role of Systems Engineer with my Account Executive in the federal space. As a team, we fulfilled over 230% of quota achieving $4.6M in sales, and we are well on our way to over $6M for 2008. For 2007, I received the "Top Gun" award for excellence in solutions engineering. I participated in numerous proof-of-concepts, professional service engagements, sales engagements and many other activities requiring flexibility and expertise in the areas of network design and security for wired and wireless. In 2005, I along with two others on my team sold nearly $3.1 million dollars in network management software with a quota of $1.6 million in an eight state region in the south central US. My role was to accompany my AE, consult with clients, perform demos and conduct presentations for a variety of clients, respond to RFx’s, conduct customer training, and follow-up support. I was responsible for establishing scoping for professional services as well as performing proof-of-concepts. I was tasked with helping my clients discover the real issues behind problems or the inhibitors to new visions. I’ve done extensive research and practice of solution selling and consultative techniques taught by Mike Bosworth, Mahan Khalsa, and others teaching methods to create a distinguished buying experience to solve customer’s problems.

I was assigned to the B2 Bomber Weapons Support System at Tinker AFB, OK as an onsite consultant. I was dedicated to TAFB for most all of my time with Cabletron. I traveled to other customer sites to help out other employees and to gain a better perspective on how other customers are using Spectrum and Cabletron gear. My initial responsibility was for network design and maintenance. I was trained and performed this duty for several months. Later, I was promoted and then my primary responsibility was to manage the network with Spectrum and provide monitoring and reports on network utilization on LANs, WANs, network equipment, and servers. I assisted where needed and participated in server system design and setup as well as network troubleshooting. With a budget of $1.5M I designed and built a NOC with Spectrum, SPEL, complete with computer systems, NMS systems, all servers, furniture, console switching, and video systems used to manage and monitor the nationwide B2 network.
