Most people can listen faster than they can read. As a voice-over artist, I love taking your words from the printed page and crafting them into a pristine recording that today's busy people can incorporate into their lifestyles, whether you need a commercial, narration, e-learning module, podcast or audiobook.

1913 — 1913 (less than a year)
When I started a part-time job at everyone's favorite government agency during high school, I never dreamed I would work there for 30 years! My dream was always to become a voice-over artist, so it was even more surprising that I worked in information systems (IS) positions. I worked as a programmer, programmer analyst, supervisor to the programming staff and finally a local area network (LAN ) / wide area network (WAN) / e-mail administrator.
My intense technical expertise has served me well in my voice-over career. I research, buy, install, maintain and operate the many pieces of equipment in my stunning studio. My clients love that I have an IT background as I am able to perform scripts aimed at IT audiences with complete credibility and authenticity!
For privacy purposes, I did not state the years of my actual employment. Trivia buffs will know that 1913 is the first year that Form 1040 was used. :)

Pat commented at the end of the workshop that I take direction so well that he couldn't imagine any kind of audiobook that I couldn't do.

I have known since 5th grade that I wanted to be a talk show host and cartoon voice. For a while during high school and college, I also wanted to be the first female play-by-play announcer in Majior League Baseball.
Even though my parents told me I wouldn't make any money in journalism, I majored in broadcast journalism because it was the curriculum best suited to getting into my dream field of being a voice-over artist. I minored in marketing because you had to pick something. It turned out that I have a true passion for marketing!
