Researcher focused on the architectural aspects of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), in particular on the design of local and network-wide system abstractions for WSNs that reconcile the conflicting requirements between application-specific performance optimization with portability, re-usability and productivity:
- principal designer of a Hardware Abstraction Architecture in TinyOS 2.0, the most popular operating system for WSNs
- principal designer of TinyCOPS, Publish/Subscribe framework for WSNs supporting custom selection of the communication protocols for subscription dissemination and notification collection
abstraction of hardware, operating systems design, cross-layer protocol design, publish/subscribe middleware
