PhD student at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", control engineer and open source expert
Oxford, United Kingdom
My studies are oriented in the field of control engineering, with a specialization in adaptive and robust control.
With my thesis, "Model for the AL-F for the Frascati Tokamak Upgrade", I worked inside a big research agency in Italy, studying and developing a model for an high-power inverter of the FTU Tokamak.
For my master degree thesis i worked at the JET (Joint European Torus) facility in Culham (Oxfordshire, UK), where I helped in porting the complex realtime vertical stabilisation control system from the proprietary VxWorks platform to the free Linux-RTAI operating system.
During the next year I worked at the new version of the Vertical Stabilisation controller (VS5) implemented on a Linux-RTAI based high-performance multithreaded general purpose C++ platform, which we developed internally.
Now I'm developing an advanced non-linear controller for the PRFA amplifier.
Adaptive control, robust control, signal processing, realtime OS, RTAI, linux, tokamak architecture.
