  • Co-Owner

    The Aten Syndicate

    (Information Technology and Services industry)

    October 2006September 2008 (2 years )

The Aten Syndicate is a small group of very skilled individuals. Systems, Marketing, Security - we're a companys' company. Other contracting companies will nitpick, kludge work, and find ways to squeeze their customer for every dime. We've been subjected to this enough and we've decided that there needs to be a team with honor that people can contact when they need help. We are that team. Our first foot foward is honesty.

  • Production Support Engineer

    Fair Isaac

(Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; FIC; Computer Software industry)

    April 2007April 2008 (1 year 1 month)

Assisting clients such as Capital One, Citi Bank, Discover and others with their decisioning systems. These systems decision loan applications and credit applications at between 100 - 200,000 applications per minute.

I am also the impromptu department sysadmin, having already established a wiki, a basecamp/campfire environment, a document repository and a ruby on rails development environment. These all run on a debian server I built and maintain.

    I support my clients running:
    AIX 5.2 and 5.3
    Solaris 8,9 and 10
    IBM MQSeries and MQ(6.0)
    Oracle 9.2 and 10.1

  • Owner

    itkinetix.com (Sole Proprietorship)

(Sole Proprietorship; Myself Only; Information Technology and Services industry)

    January 2005October 2006 (1 year 10 months)

ITKinetix was my consulting business. It was doing just dandy untill myself and a friend joined forces to create The Aten Syndicate. Hes a developer and marketing expert, and I am a Systems Engineer/Architect, so it works out very nicely. We cover the entire board.

  • Systems Engineer

    Digital Integration Group (Sole Proprietorship)

(Sole Proprietorship; 1-10 employees; Information Technology and Services industry)

    September 2005March 2006 (7 months)

Four man consulting group. I was the sole systems administrator for seven customers around town in San Diego. Mostly 10-50 person companies that simply needed daily administration on a user level, and sometimes printer issues etc. From time to time a large project would crop up, like a cisco vpn for a large law firm, or defense contractors who required network diagrams and plans to be OK'ed by someone familiar with linux.

  • Systems Engineer

    Anonymizer

(Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Information Technology and Services industry)

    September 2004September 2005 (1 year 1 month)

One of three unix systems administrators that adminned 110+ debian linux servers. Mysql, Apache/Apache2, Perl scripting and complete design and implementation of a custom network and proxy environment. The network I designed for Anonymizer was patented, and I am awaiting documentation from the patent office for the official US patent number.

  • Technical Support Specialist (Tier 2)

    Websense INC

(Public Company; 201-500 employees; wbsn; Information Technology and Services industry)

    July 2001May 2004 (2 years 11 months)

Technical support for fortune 500 companies. US military installations, nuclear submarines, guantanamo bay, Kmart, center for disease control amongst others. High degree of professionalism and quick response time to unusual websense/system/network problems. Accute sense of urgency when dealing with issues concerning using websense data to terminate an employee (especially at the federal/military level). Quickly became the linux go-to guy, and was the first employee ever to be 'loaned' to the IT department from technical support.
