Bob Stein’s Summary

I expect to work solo from now on. But if I'm ever part of a team again, let us resolve to build the best of something. Let's peak usefulness, then seek sustenance. The idea is to end-around a lot of competition (direct aim at usefulness), and to keep making choices that matter (sustainability).

Tiers of choices: what's worth doing, who joins, when to part, how to dole the money. Let each of these be the responsibility of all of us. What we do, and its worth, can never be measured well, but the team will know it best.

A traditional organization seeks equilibrium where bloat balances rot. Let's instead band together more like a movie set or a moon landing. Let our products, and maybe our stories, but not the team, perpetuate.

Let the core live and work close-by, maybe we'd take over some floors of an airport hotel for a few years. Let's do the McCarthy BootCamp, or Outward Bound, or Camel Beach. Let's think and synchronize vision more than natural. Fewer walls. Titles honest enough to lol. Ulterior products: lectures, books about whatever we discover that seems wise, especially the counterexamples. Let's make fun of our own smarm as antiemetic.

Let's make a difference. Let's have fun. Let's evolve. Let's demonstrate the three reinforcing each other.

As I said, solo.
