    Damage Control (DC) Chief, member of the emergency management and planning division and the SY all-hazards emergency response team. Ensuring emergency management standards, regulations, practices, training, procedures and the availability of essential emergency equipment and firefighting capabilities are available to visiting submarines and ships that are undergoing repairs at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and IMF.

  • Dry Deck Shelter (DDS)

    • January 2010 to November 2013
    Team Members: Vernon Brown

    Worked as a member, Leading Petty Officer and Production Chief of the team which maintains the DDS removable module that can be attached to a submarine to allow divers and Navy SEAL's easy exit and entrance while the boat is submerged. Was involved in the execution of planned maintenance, testing, and DSS-SOC certification of 3 DDS assets as well as the logistical movement of these shelters both to and from the East and West Coast and the installation and removal of these modules on and off of submarines.

    Established and executed numerous jobs and capabilities in the area of mechanics, testing, program process and Quality Assurance to aid in the Fleet Maintenance Activity Assessment and certification of Naval Special Warfare Logistics and Support Unit THREE.

    Worked as a member of SDVT-1 and part of the team responsible for the DSS-SOC certification and further advancement of the systems and capabilities of the ASDS from the beginning stages of life to the final disposition of the project. Was Leading Petty Officer and involved in the host submarine integration and the mechanical and life support systems aboard this one-of-a-kind Navy SEAL combat submersible.

    • September 2000 to July 2003
    Team Members: Vernon Brown

    Initiated work controls processes for the establishment of safe work conditions, testing and system restoration for non-nuclear submarine repair and the overhaul and modernization work conducted during a Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and IMF Submarine Availability.

  • USS Hampton SSN 767: Machinist's Mate, Auxiliary (MM-AUX)

    • October 1998 to August 2000
    Team Members: Vernon Brown

    A Machinist Mate (MM), assigned aboard the submarine, who specialized in maintenance and repair of auxiliary equipment. One of several specialists that worked to maintain and operate the different submarine mechanical systems, and non-nuclear related operations systems in air, refrigeration, hydraulic, atmosphere control, diesel and plumbing systems. Also conducted numerous repairs using SUBSAFE Quality Assurance methods to provide maximum reasonable assurance that the submarine hull will stay watertight, and that they it can recover from unanticipated flooding in the event of such an occurrence.

    • July 1998 to September 1998
    Team Members: Vernon Brown

    Construction Mechanics are SEABEES that repair and maintain heavy construction and automotive equipment including, buses, dump trucks, bulldozers, rollers, cranes, backhoes, pile drivers, and tactical vehicles. CMs also prepare detailed maintenance records and cost control data and acquire parts.
