Senior Executive at Health Promotion Board
Singapore
I am a new media consultant, advising internal clients of the most suitable channels for their programmes. I manage a number of projects simultaneously, catering to a wide range of target audiences, particularly youth and young adults.
My work has been recognised numerous times in the Singapore media, particularly for launching the very first podcast by a Government agency and for founding a new movement. In August 2006 I was featured in the Straits Times as the founder of the Gahmen Bloggers group, which was established to support fellow Government officers who wished to start blogs for their agencies. Blogging has enabled us to reach out to the public in a friendly and more informal way. In 2007 I was featured in Digital Life for my experience in Second Life. I have also presented at training courses on various aspects of social media.
Within the organisation, I served for 2 years as the resident techie for our newsletter, moving it online for easier access. I am an advocate of Knowledge Management and open sharing.
Social media, specifically blogging, podcasting, Web 2.0, social networking, usability design, writing for the web, accessibility, web standards, integrated marketing, online branding (based on experience working 2 years in a brand consultancy). Interested in expanding knowledge on virtual communities, public and media relations.
