Valetta Anderson’s Summary
I am a professional playwright whose full productions include “Leaving Limbo,” by Atlanta’s Essential Theatre, “She’ll Find Her Way Home” and “Today” by Jomandi Productions. “She’ll Find…” was also produced by Fisk University and by Pittsburgh’s Kuntu Repertory Theatre. “Hallelujah Street Blues,” my newest full length play, is currently running at Atlanta’s Horizon Theatre from July 11 through August 24, 2008.
My awards include AT&T:Onstage, Cultural Olympiad of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, Essential Theatre’s Power Plays, Hermann Kesten Stipend in Nürnberg, Germany, Rockefeller Foundation’s New Play Development Grant, and Rouse Company National Humanities Award.
I am Resident Teaching Artist with Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre Institute for Educators and Teaching Artists, Teaching Artist with the Fox and Horizon Theatres, and former Adjunct Drama Professor at Spelman College. I also serve on the Boards of Directors of the Decatur Arts Alliance and Working Titles Playwrights

Working Title Playwrights mission is to provide all playwrights with the opportunity to excel: by helping them tell their stories for the stage, fostering the development of well-crafted plays, and increasing the visibility of theatre in the community.
WTP works with playwrights, directors, actors, audiences, theatres and theatre organizations to help writers create their plays. We offer readings, educational seminars and opportunities for playwrights to see and hear their work onstage in its earliest stages and when it's ready for a full production by a theatre.
We also help our playwrights understand the process of promoting their plays and serve as a clearinghouse for theatres that are interested in new work. -
