Krzysztof Urbanowicz is a CEO of MEDIAPOLIS, a marketing print & internet company, based in Warsaw, Poland.
Since 2005 he is a principal and director of the international network 5W Mignon Media for the Eastern Europe and the author of Media Cafe Polska, a blog on new media.
His expertise is in new media, blog marketing, newsroom organization, editorial strategy, media training and business strategy print&online. He has extensive experience with newspapers, magazines, book publishing and corporate communications.
Previously he was CEO of Index Copernicus, an global online research infrastructure and network of more than 300,000 scientists around the world, quoted in New Connect, the polish version of Nasdaq. Index Copernicus is a Google strategic partner for Europe and Asia.
He was a journalist in France with French and Polish mass media, including Le Figaro, and in Poland - a deputy editor in chief of Super Express. He started his career as a journalist in France in Le Quotidien de Paris and Le Figaro. He wrote for daily publications, such as La Croix, Info-Matin, Le Parisien and also for magazines, such as L'Express or Le Moniteur du Commerce International.
In addition, he was the director of a French-Polish journalism school based in Warsaw, Poland (L’Ecole Superieure de Journalisme de Lille and University of Warsaw). He has also been an advisory member of the French-Polish Foundation for Journalism in charge of media training and consulting.
He created the Press Academy, Local Press Academy alongside the Polish Editors Association and the Academy of Corporate Media.
He wrote the book L'EMPIRE NUCLÉAIRE ÉCLATÉ (Editions Michalon, Paris 1994), a description of the nuclear question in the collapse of the Soviet Union.
He is Polish and French citizen.
