Sanjay Udani's Summary
I am responsible for identifying and assessing emerging technology issues that affect Verizon and the operation, functioning and performance of the broadband Internet ecosystem. I've made many presentations to both internal as well external stakeholders on topics such as CDNs, DNS filtering and evolution of the Internet's architecture. In addition to conducting ongoing dialog with stakeholders, including research institutes, think tanks and policy makers, I helped found the Broadband Internet Technology Advisory Group (BITAG.org).
Prior to assuming my current position in the Public Affairs, Policy and Communications group in Feb. 2011, I was a Principal Member of Technical Staff in Verizon’s Network & Technology organization. In that role, I led many aspects of Verizon’s FiOS broadband deployment including the architecture for Internet data service, video on demand, home networks, network policy management, content delivery networks, and the next generation IPTV initiative.
I'm also an adjunct associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania and have been teaching graduate telecommunications courses for over a decade.
