Software Developer at Bleacher Report
San Francisco Bay Area
I have been developing websites professionally for over six years. I've spent the last three years developing Ruby and Ruby on Rails web apps. I am familiar with the entire web stack; from setting up fast, scalable server architecture, optimizing databases and queries, to implementing advanced, javascript-heavy user-interfaces.
I want to: Work with creative people that have good ideas. Utilize modern web technology. Be challenged. Make killer web applications.
I believe in: Really thoughtful interfaces. Clean, fast, and reusable code. Delivering a beautiful product. Language and library agnosticism (just use the right tool for the job, always). Enjoying and being proud of what you do.

Resigned from Bleacher Report to pursue a career as a freelance software developer. Seeking out new challenges and
technologies, willing to work from anywhere in the world.
Developed a music marketing and media tool for the iPhone. The app allows concert-goers a way to view song and band
information during a concert, as well as tweet, photograph, and interact with the band.
Developed interactive graphics application for concert-goers to control interactive visuals with a performing band in real-time.
The user logs onto network from their iPhone and controls the XY coordinates of a sprite drawn on a projector screen. The sprites
parameters (blur, size, shape, etc) are affected by volume velocities from instruments in the band

FaceBook-like Image Gallery: Preloaded data into a fully cached JSON object to avoid page refreshes. This required implementing
an ad platform that allowed us to dynamically reload ads, and update analytical data. It was also required to be SEO friendly, 100%
crawlable, and fall back to standard page reloads when Javascript was disabled. The day after deploy the feature was hit with
record traffic without any hiccups and resulted in massive increase in pageviews per visit, and an increase in performance.
Activities: Implemented a scalable site-wide activity monitor. Activities can be filtered by type, subject, user, or any combination
of the three. They can be viewed on a page in real time by utilizing flash push technology, which in turn was more efficient than
clients blindly polling servers.
Getty Image Integration: Created tasks that sync thousands of images from Getty Images to our servers. Process and manipulate
the images, then store and index the image IPTC data. The index was then used to dynamically generate high-quality image
galleries for sporting events that could be viewed within the hour of any event with a Getty Images photographer (virtually
anything).
