Prior to advising WebMoney, I was its chief strategist in charge of research on and negotiations with potential JV partners outside of Japan.
With the industry exposure and connections that this role gave me, I'd still welcome any discussions about opportunities in Asia related to web-based micropayments and e-money in general.

Initially hired as an education specialist, I had relationship management responsibilities for non-Japanese (gaishikei) financial institutions in Tokyo, new SWIFT users in Japan, and SWIFT-accredited system vendors by the time I left.
I spoke publicly on ISO15022 financial messaging standards and SWIFTNet (our secure IP VPN-based messaging platform) in Japanese, English and Chinese at the bankers association in Japan and other countries around Asia.
After the successful conclusion of SWIFT's technical migration project to a secure IP environment as of January 2005, I worked on the adoption of new XML-based business solutions for Japan's financial services industry and new customers such as brokers (forex, money market, and financial derivatives) and multinational corporations based in Japan.

After implementing a laboratory information system that quadrupled the efficiency of P&G’s R&D lab in Kobe, followed by an on-demand Japanese translation software for the ingredient database of P&G's regulatory compliance department, I was made manager for the corporate functions IT section in Asia. These happened within a year of my hiring by P&G.
From then on, I became the primary IT contact of P&G directors for R&D and market research, with two P&G IT managers reporting directly to me until I was recruited by SWIFT.

Established in Fujisawa city, Kanagawa prefecture in 1992, APTi was a joint venture between IBM Japan and Toshiba TEC. A few years after my departure, it was acquired by ADTX Systems (http://www.adtx.com), another IBM affiliate.
Hired as a fresh graduate when APTi-Philippines was being set up in 1993, I started as a software developer moving on to team supervisor, product manager and marketing manager by the time I left in 1999. As marketing manager, I turned a client list of 3 Japan-based companies into 35 companies of varied nationalities. My stint in APTi provided me with training and working assignments in Japan, California and Taiwan and allowed me to develop relationships which I continue to maintain in both my professional and private lives. It also gave me my 5th language, Nihongo.
