Dispute Resolution Lawyer, Partner at teclegal Habel
Munich Area, Germany
I advise and represent German and foreign companies in factually as well as legally complex disputes before courts, international and national arbitral tribunals as well as in alternative dispute resolution proceedings. This includes in particular the representation of foreign companies before German courts, the cross-border enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards, the strategic litigation planning including interim measures in cross-border cases such as forum shopping, as well as the clarification of questions of the conflict of laws in complex matters.
I have specific expertise in copyright and software law, Internet law and intellectual property law (patent, trademark and unfair competition law). I have experience in the areas compliance, corporate governance, corporate liability as well as product liability and product safety law. I provide advice in relation to the management of Europe wide product recalls, represent companies before product safety authorities in Germany and abroad and defend suppliers - in particular in the automotive industry - against regress claims by manufacturers relating to product recall costs. A particular focus is the demonstrative and for technical laypersons easily understandable explanation of complex technical facts in technology related litigation and arbitration.
I was admitted to the German bar in 1995. From 1997 through 2002 I was an associate with Baker & McKenzie in the offices Frankfurt, Dallas (USA) and Munich. From 2002 through 2007 I was a partner in the Munich office of Baker & McKenzie. On 1 January 2008 I joined teclegal Habel Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft.
I am the author of numerous legal articles on IT and IP law topics and class actions. I also gave numerous presentations on these issues. An interview with me was broadcast in a report on the German Capital Investors Class Actions Act in the news on TV (heute-journal by ZDF).
