Enterprise IT architect
Oslo Area, Norway
Cand. Scient (equiv. to Master) in astrophysics, doing a thesis on numerical modelling in cosmology using Fortran. During my studies, the Internet and all its available technologies intrigued me, which led to a position as a product consultant at Telia Norge AS (later Enitel AS), doing programming and logistics. Saw during this time the potential of the mobile part of the Internet, which resulted in relocation to djuice.com (Telenor Mobile). There worked with J2EE, WAP, XSL, XML, and such. After djuice.com was shut down, I started working on the J2EE middleware platform at Telenor Mobil. During my time there, I got a good hold on Java/J2EE and started taking greater responsibility for the architecture, both technical and functional. I was, among others, part of a large refactoring project and the introduction of a pure SOA platform. Such projects, and the move to Eniro, working as an IT architect, has moved me towards the role of an enterprise architect.
My goal is to further my knowledge in both server and client side programming, especially in the enterprise context. I have a good hold of the middleware tier, including the integration technology, but need to get a better hold of the client side and the back-end, be it conventional databases or more modern solutions such as data grids and spaces. My main focus at the moment is the governance of a SOA platform and handling of large datasets and the effect it has on the performance.
Java programming, especially in a J2EE system, utilizing XP, refactoring, Scrum and domain modelling. Enterprise architecture, especially in the middleware tier, including classical applications servers and and more modern SOA platforms.
