've been doing web development for as long as I can remember, but never considered it a viable career until I saw the philosophy grads I was arguing with in lecture hall applying for my dirty minimum wage fast-food job. I ditched the illusions of intellectualism and picked up a diploma in graphic design from NSCC, and was soon doing work for freelance clients. I later moved out to Lunenburg to take a job as a graphic artist with HB Studios. I was part of a three-person graphic design team on Rugby 2006, then moved on to take sole responsibility for the frontend of Cricket 2007. Meanwhile, I continued to take on freelance jobs, completing a number of websites, logos, and miscellaneous design work. Pretty soon I realized I was coming home from work to spend all night working on freelance projects, and I needed to focus on either my career or my business. I chose the scarier, but more challenging route.
I am voraciously reading all kinds of texts about design and the world around me, trying to learn more languages and styles and techniques on a daily basis. I am always being inspired by beautiful and brilliant things. I absolutely adore what I do, and I'm pretty sure that I get a little better every day.
