MDC is a telecom value added service operator; its revenue comes from the revenue-share of an online operating VAS product which is co-operated by MDC and telecom operators. MDC’s VAS product line ranges from SMS, MMS, WAP, IVR, Web portal, Instant Messaging to telecom call center.
I’ve been MDC's Director of Product Center (PC for short) since August 2005, 8 months after I joined the company as a product manager. Product Center was a new department which was in charge of MDC’s entire telecom VAS products’ lifecycle, and I was the first man of PC. As the supervisor of PC, I was entrusted with a great deal of responsibility, from a product’s demands discussion, service flow design, market promotion, customer communication and presentation to corporation strategy planning and venture capital funding. (MDC’s first round capital invested by SAIF, and so did the second-round)

Lantop is a wireless value added service operator which cooperates closely with China Mobile and China Unicom; Lantop’s product line ranges from personal SMS application to enterprise SMS application and the revenue is generated by the monthly fee of subscribers and the enterprise users.
I actually co-founded the company. Help my ex-boss started up the business by creating and designing the product, hunting the qualified guy to develop product (this guy is now the CTO of Lantop), preparing all the portfolios to apply the new product release from China Mobile and China Unicom, I even set up the rules for sales man. Lantop is now a profitable company, the major revenue-generating product are “mobile campus” which helps teachers keep in touch with their students through internet and SMS; the second one is “Shanghai Party” which helps young singles get new friends through SMS.
