My research interests center on a systems-based view on innovation, focusing on how business model innovation and strategy formulation can be enabled by systems design, and the extent to which innovation types can be modeled as design patterns and system archetypes. Other interests include the impact of open source on entrepreneurship, and innovations in search technology
