Under my guidance, a national research center on youth civic engagement at the University of Maryland revamped their website and instituted new metrics and analyses of their online outreach. (Privately Held; Myself Only; Online Media industry)
January 2006 — August 2007 (1 year 8 months)
In 2006, I envisioned, designed and published UNSG.org, a website and blog on the candidates and government positions in the selection of the United Nations Secretary General. My commitment to objective reporting allowed me to build close relationships with UN and permanent mission staff, civil society leaders and other journalists covering the UN.
The site quickly became an authoritative resource for media, civil society groups and governments, including early reporting of the results of the Security Council’s closed-door straw polls. Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information Shashi Tharoor, himself a candidate, praised the site as “the gold standard” for information on the race.
The design of the blog provided a forum for public expression and the development of an online community of interested global citizens, and its analytics allowed me to monitor readers’ locations and engagement with others, including content they shared with friends and colleagues.

Elected position in 501(c)4 side of Citizens for Global Solutions. As a member of the Board, I held a fiduciary and legal responsibility to ensure the organization's capacity to carry out its programs by continually reviewing the strategic plan, budget, and objectives.
I served on the Board through election by the active local members as Chair of the Grassroots Leaders Council. As Chair, I helped flesh out the vague statutory description of the Council's role as an elected body of members, established staggered terms for its members, and worked to ensure the Council continued to represent the interest of members as stakeholders.
