Tonya Howell’s Summary
Graduated in May 2000 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor's Degree in advertising. Started at the Grand Island Independent in May 2000 in the online department.
My first position was Internet Sales & Marketing Representative where I sold online advertising and websites to customers. I also helped them decide on a vision for their advertising/website ventures and provided on-going customer service.
After a year in that position, a position opened up for web design which I was hired for. I developed commercial websites for our clients and helped maintain the content on those sites.
I remained in the online department with my position morphing over the years as different needs arose and our department grew.
My last position was titled New Media Producer. I was responsible for developing advertising content and design for theindependent.com, maintaining commercial websites and daily creation of multimedia advertising.
My position was eliminated in June 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed my 8 years there and loved the work.
I am currently working at Rasmussen & Associates/Beavercreek Marketing here in Grand Island.
