Tonia M. Bartz is a human sciences designer at the Foundry, which is the human centered design organization that supports General Dynamics C4 Systems. Tonia has a decade of experience in standards compliant web design, marketing, and information technology. She has been involved of in all stages of the project lifecycle from proposals to research, design and implementation.
A 2006 graduate of the Information Architecture and Knowledge Management (IAKM) graduate program at Kent State University, Tonia also holds bachelors degrees in both Marketing and Management Information Systems. She has experience working in companies of various sizes and industries and was previously a user experience consultant within the automotive industry and President of a non-profit organization.
Tonia belongs to several professional organizations, including the Usability Professionals Association (UPA) and the Interaction Design Association (IxDA), where she is the Local Group Initiative Community Lead and the Phoenix Local Group Leader.
Tonia incorporates her self-proclaimed Rainbow Awesome Unicorn Wow philosophy into every part of her life. She enjoys hiking and is currently planning a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Tonia also has a passion for singing and can usually be spotted at karaoke outings or playing Rock Band, where she usually sings or rocks out on the drums. In addition, she enjoys small town festivals, local events, learning new things, vanilla coke zero, a good wine bar or microbrewery, sporting events, her sugar gliders, and meeting new people.
