Tommy Jordan’s Summary

Twisted Networx, Inc. provides top-notch services in the field of Managed Services, Structured Cabling, Network Design, Network Certification, PC/Server Sales and Service, Telecommunications Systems, and Fiber Optics. A proven track record of success and 110% commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction make Twisted Networx a great choice for your network project(s), large or small. Initial consultations are free and our work can be warrantied for up to 25 years! Give me, and my company, a chance to earn your business!

We have developed a great love for travel, both in and outside the United States, and for working in remote and even harsh destinations. I've come to realize that if we can design international networks with VSAT, lay fiber cable in the 150 degree heat of the Sahara desert, and train African native contractors who dont' even speak our language, then we can excel at anything. The time has come for us to realize new challenges, I hope you'll consider us for your next project.

Interested in: Contract opportunities large and small ( US based or abroad).

  • Project Manager

    Applied Technologies, Inc.

(Privately Held; 51-200 employees; Information Technology and Services industry)

    January 2006Present (3 years 11 months)

I am a Project Manager for a US based foreign IT contractor.

My time is spent half in the United States, half Abroad. I receive a new contract from our CEO, spend two to six months preparing the install and design strategies, handling vendors who need to be involved, clearing up international issues that stall work at a later date, building a team of contractors and engineers, then training them to work in these conditions and verse them in cultural knowledge they will need to operate in a foreign country.

The time overseas is traditionally spent living in either local cities or in client-base camps, depending on the conditions of the project and the location of the install. While there, we perform all the installation, certification, testing, and other related tasks. When I bring my team home to the US at the end, the client is left with a full turn-key network architecture or fiber backbone, or other commidity, dependent on what the contract called for.

  • COO (Chief Operations Officer)

    Computer Techs, Inc/ CCT Wholesale

(Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Computer Networking industry)

    March 2004January 2006 (1 year 11 months)

I was hired to take over the day to day operations of a small computer company in Eastern North Carolina, who at the time had only one employee. My responsibilities included developing marketing strategies to grow the company, hiring and training staff on a limited budget, creating vendor relationships with larger suppliers, performing and setting up payroll, insurance, and tax administration for the company, and all other duties associated with trying to grow a small business.

In two years I was able to grow the company to 14 people, increase our coverage area to include all 50 states, and create a sub S-corporation to handle international wholesale to create capital for the labor-based side of the busines.
I left the organization in early 2006 because of an offer to travel abroad and use these services on a larger scale working with foreigh governments and countries.

  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control

    Grady White Boats

(Privately Held; 501-1000 employees; Building Materials industry)

    November 2003February 2004 (4 months)

Hired on as a temp to fill a position, I was moved quickly into Quality Control and Quality Assurance. Basically, Grady White Boats, one of the largest custom boat manufacturers in the United States, was losing money (not going into the negative, but just overlooking cost-savings potentials) by spending massive amounts of money on dealer refurbs on boats that were repaired by the dealers.

They had no one who could utilize or understand the massive amounts of collected data available in their weekly dealer reports. Using Autocad, an ISO Compliance System, Employee Training, and by manipulating the raw data into numbers that could be understood by the executives, I was able to show Grady White how to same millions of dollars annually by implementing preventative measures in their designs and by training their staff to properly use equipment, calibrate pneumatic tools, etc.

  • Branch Manager

    Aerus

(Privately Held; 5001-10,000 employees; Health, Wellness and Fitness industry)

    August 2001November 2003 (2 years 4 months)

Hired as an independent sales associate with absolutely no experience in sales. After three weeks of floundering my way through, my training finally took hold. In one week, I rose to the top sales agent in the local branch, and was promoted to management within another month.

I declined multiple offers to run my own new store until one of the regional branches in New Bern was almost completely run into the ground. I was then asked to take the position and turn the store around. Reluctantly I took the position and headed off to the new branch location.

Within one month I had recovered 95% of the financial losses from the previous two years and pushed myself and my staff to the number 2 position in the United States (out of about 1500 regional offices).
