Software Engineer II at Universal Mind
Birmingham, Alabama Area
I am an Adobe Flex Software Engineering Consultant employed by Universal Mind. I have focused on Adobe Flex/ActionScript3 development since early 2006. Prior to 2006, I designed and implemented the user interface for a family of Windows applications using MS Visual C++/MFC for a previous employer since 1998.
I have developed numerous Windows applications using Visual C++/MFC since 1994 and the C programming language and Windows SDK since 1991 in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish languages. Software applications that I’ve participated in the development of have received three “product of the year” awards from national publications.
In addition to my software engineering expertise, I also offer expertise in audio and video production, compression formats and media authoring. I have a working understanding of the MP3 audio compression and MPEG2/4/h.264 video compression formats as well as the CD-Audio, CD-ROM and DVD media formats and the NTSC, PAL, and ATSC HDTV broadcast standards.
I have also produced corporate training/marketing videos, historical documentaries, commercial HTML/CSS and Flash driven websites, commercially replicated DVD titles and streaming media content for numerous freelance clients since 2001. I have several years of experience using the Adobe Creative Suite family of products including the After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Encore DVD applications as well as a variety of audio editing and media compression tools.
All told, I have been designing and producing software as well as audio and video content using electronic technologies since the early 1980s.
