A strong technologist, Toby fell into financial IT from University by chance when he started working for a trading software ISV as a systems administrator. Since then he has gained experience with both the technicalities of financial IT and the implications of running fault tolerant and redundant systems for trading environments which ideally need 100% uptime. Joining Schneider in 2004 he built and ran a team which manages exchange connectivity and trading systems across continents for many hundreds of local and remote traders. After a period of project management he is now providing technology oversight and acts as primary technical contact for all exchange and ISV relationships.
From 1997 to 2008 he was also a director of Cygnet Computer Solutions where he has worked with the Parliamentary Maritime Group, the Parliamentary IT Committee, the BCS Young Professionals Group (including two years on the YPG commitee) and the Real Time Club one of the highlights of which was helping with their presentation at the Royal Society which discussed the future of technological entrepreneurship in the UK. He has recently set up De Buren LLP to continue and expand on the work he did with Cygnet Computer Solutions.
He volunteers occasionally for a charity called Journey of a Lifetime (JoLt) where he helps lay out and design their bi-yearly magazine.
