Web Developer at The Nichols Company
Fort Wayne, Indiana Area
I work in Fort Wayne, Indiana as a web developer for The Nichols Company—a small, creative and successful marketing agency. I have experience in
creating and managing standards compliant web sites, client and server side programming, social media, web design and server/client administration. I am the co-founder of the Screaming Monkeys Web Guild, a local web development professional group whose goal is to foster business networking, learning and creativity.
I spend most of my time in XHTML, CSS, Javascript (MooTools), PHP, and MySQL. I hand code everything according to web standards. Additionally, I have some experience with ColdFusion, and a little in ASP.
I tend to have an eye for details and I won't rest until every pixel is exactly where I want it to be. In fact, I pride myself on my ability to produce browser agnostic web sites. I love contemporary art and technology. My love for web design is a direct product of that as it's a perfect combination of both.
I'm a dad first and foremost—much of my time is spent with my daughter. Otherwise I'm a petrol head, and can be found hanging out with local car clubs or autocrossing. I also love photography, my friends, Twitter, and the Rachel Maddow show.

I develop and maintain websites of all sizes, from small brochure pages to our developing our own CMS, for various clients using XHTML/CSS and unobtrustive Javascript that are compatible across multiple browsers.
Additionally I act as our resident network/server admin/tech support for our employees in a mixed Apple/PC environment (using OS X Server). As such I've performed/managed full-scale hardware upgrades, server upgrades, email migrations, and ISP switchovers.
I've also had a few chances to participate (and in a few, be in charge of) in designs as well. I also handle any email campaigns that need sent out for clients or our sales department.
To top it off, I've been to many sales and informational meetings as well and have also served in the area of customer service and project management.
