Part publicist, part writer, part marketer with a dozen-plus years of experience promoting ideas, products and services in various culture-shaping (and sometimes suffocating) domains — advertising, media, interactive design, photography, technology, television and fashion.
Having years ago broken the trance of an increasingly corporate-controlled, cynical consumer culture, I started working in the public interest, promoting nonprofits and progressive social causes — media for the Dalai Lama, publicity for several PBS documentaries and a book on media culture, PR for environmental groups, branding for a consortium of low-income credit unions...
Editorial/writing: I've coordinated, researched, written and edited various PR/marketing materials, corporate communications and magazine articles for a range of audiences. This includes a stint at Ogilvy & Mather's highly respected Brand Integration Group (BIG), where I worked as a content developer. I'm also a regular contributor to an award-winning photography magazine included in Chicago Tribune’s annual “50 Best Magazines.”
