My professional and academic background is IT related: I have worked as a software developer, architect and network engineer and manager.
I made a career change into the area of bioinformatics. I did an MSc in that area and I am currently starting a PhD in the epidemiology of drug resistant malaria.
Most of my work is still computer based: computational simulation followed by statistical analysis. I am actually writing more code now than I was during my IT years.
Software development (several languages) and architecture, network management, population genetics, genomics, epidemiology, statistics, public health, tropical diseases.
