I have been working with being HIV positive way before it went mainstream, actually testing in late 1985 upon the use of elimination realized 2 of my previous colleagues had died and the other was in denial. Remember this is all taking place in the mid 80's and HIV/AIDS had just been discovered. December 15, 1985 during my lunch break I was too call the CDC here in OKC to get my results, did I mention by phone?

  I don't think I am a "Novice" tech wise and feel as a person struggling with many issues one being ADHD to be a dedicated social webware 2.0 networking HIV/AIDS Gay attache' carrying the news be it bleak or beautiful carrying a message not spreading the disease attempting to invite others to healthy debates and educate one another. My 25+ year survival living at one time on Private insurance and today on Medicare living with AIDS is no fluke. Using AOL 2.5 in 1994 before mainstream USA would come aboard this new wave surfing the now famous Internet would meet two MAC graphic artists kind enough to build me a "website" teaching me how to live beyond AOL and soon thereafter www.thomcollins.com was born. Launched in 1995 with an address so long in characters but in 1997 my .com was now a part of the groundbreaking world wide web. Profiles, Social Networking, and a non stop Thom Collins barrage this of many profiles or stories I plan on moving and sharing the old site here and on my fresh attempt at rebuilding thomcollins.com on a new server.

  Until disease caught up with me after living with HIV for almost 16 plus years no illness we closed shop. Up until then we were at one point the largest home health agency in OKC of it's kind. Opening a project close to my heart the Open Your Heart Fnd a charity for HIV/AIDS in 1995 also having to close it's doors around the same time our Home Health closed

  working as an officer from my partner teaching me the business ground up I was able to still attempt to achieve my goals in the entertainment business part time while doing PR for the company PRSI in house and out of town. Both my partner and I were very blessed to have these companies which when you peel back my sometimes off the cuff humor which is viewed as unprofessional, bottom line was personality in bringing attention to the need of helping others. This is something I truly believe in paying it forward. Just helping one person without expecting anything in return was and still is a working creed I live by

  I was always doing something be it dancing, modeling, and finally acting. Starting out as a very Young male dancer and joining the infamous Chip-N-Dale on the road show. Working throughout the 80's sometimes just for a two week stint up to being gone and living in Portland, Maine for a booking one month show. Money was good and keeping me in shape and in the public eye. LA moved me to next level Playgirl Centerfold Jan 1991 then on to International Male Model/Undergear contract for the following two years. Working as a free lance Model due to my increasing success in the health field left me to make my own hours and choice of jobs. Be it Mens workout magazines or covers of best sellers. Then using my "celebrity" came out to mainstream USA on living with HIV giving the disease a whole new look and controversy. Coined the HIV supermodel and getting numerous cover storys both straight/gay magazines POZ being the most proudest and activist soon followed. Joining the Proof Positive Model division and working for Jeffrey Sanker productions for my entire dance career from 1989-1997.
