Thomas Zangerl's Projects

  • Confusa

    • March 2009 to December 2010

A webportal for mapping a federated identity onto an X.509 certificate.

In today's web-centric world, federated authentication solves most of the SSO issues. However, for applications that do not use web, SAML is too complicated.

Confusa aims to solve this by creating a webportal that connects the federated identity to an X.509 certifcate signed by a trusted CA. By using SAML-data to decorate the certificate, the non-SAML SPs can trust the content of the certificates.

This makes it fairly easy to include non-saml services into an established federated infrastructure.
