Thomas Kerner’s Summary
At the Kerner Law Firm, my primary focus is in business law, with a focus on contract law, debt collection, and creditor/debtor issues.
My practice is mainly devoted to litigation. Most of my cases involve breaches of contract -- typically for money owed -- but I also handle a variety of warranty and other UCC claims. My clients include: construction companies, credit unions, advertising agencies, building contractors, professionals, manufacturers, and even inventors (well, one inventor actually).
My current cases include, among others: defending a former executive of a large publicly traded corporation in a stock options case; defending a corporation in a suit related to the issuance of shares of stock; defending a construction company in a defective product case; and defending a contractor in a deceptive trade practices case brought by the North Carolina Attorney General.
