"no crisis too small"
Terry Freedman Ltd is an independent ICT consultancy. ICT is "information & communication technology", often referred to as "educational technology".
We help schools and school districts/local authorities to get the best out of their investment in educational technology, whether by working with them on their strategic development plan, teaching them how to manage their technical support, or in other ways. We also work with government agencies.
Our services include:
* Practical advice, eg about implementing new approaches in teaching ICT or teaching with ICT, or new initiatives, such as the UK's Every Child Matters.
* Strategic management in ICT, eg how to organise and manage technical support at the school level.
* Visioning: I have helped schools and groups of schools and Local Authorities develop their educational ICT vision
* Bid-writing -- I successfully bid for £500k grant
* ICT leadership training, eg Terry Freedman is an accredited trainer for the UK's SLICT (Strategic Leadership in ICT) programme.
* Articles, eg Terry Freedman has had around 1000 articles published in various journals in the UK and USA.
* Newsletter: Computers in Classrooms is a free ezine which many teachers find invaluable.
* Premium information service: our Leading & Managing ICT subscription service provides advice and information on very specific issues, in a form which is ideal for busy leaders and managers.
* Books and booklets: we have published and self-published a large number of books on ICT and related topics, including the best-selling "Managing ICT", and the list is growing.
This list is intended to give you an idea of what we do, but it is not exhaustive. Please explore the links below for more information, or contact us to discuss your requirements.

I was responsible for managing the work involved with the development of QCA's flagship on-screen test: liaising with the companies working on prototypes, and with teachers woring on suitable questions. I also invented and then developed the original rules base which underpins the test, whereby the computer "knows" what level the student is working at by interpreting his or her keystrokes.
