About Me:
I am in the process of growing both a networking training/development firm and a career as a public speaker/author. Opportunities to present are manifesting frequently. I am always open for more. Pages are getting written. Funny how much easier it is to read a book as opposed to write one.
My interest in training and speaking came because at heart, I am a connector. I take time to listen to what people need, ask questions for further clarification and use my network to find the needed resources. Those resources generally look like:
Relationship building/maintaining skills
Business Partners
Talent
Clients
Money
Sometimes I get paid upfront to find things, other times I get paid when they're found. Of course, there are times when people forget who helped them, but, that's how the world can be.
In addition to traditional business approaches I am a big proponent of both relationship and spiritual marketing. I have done work with the RNIA www.rnia.org and am co-founder/moderator of www.linkingandthesecret.com. Both topics are near and dear to me.
As I mentioned earlier, I am here to help you. Let me know how I can do so.

Motorcityconnect is Detroit's business networking engine. We are growing quickly.
As of April 22, 2008, we had 650 members.
At MCC. we have a very simple definition of what networking is:
Meet. Understand. Connect.
Meet- Pretty simple really. If you are not meeting people, you can't network.
Understand-If you both don't take the time to understand what one another does and how you can be of assistance, networking can't happen.
Connect- This normally says Connect 3.0: 1. Connect people to the resources they need. 2. Connect in a manner where you are open to and interested in sharing with others. 3. Realize that we are all connected and it is because of this that networking truly works.
I work with our very committed leadership team to provide our membership the best opportunities to accomplish the aforementioned.
If you are in, do work in or have ties to Detroit, you will want to check us out here:

I love networking and I am passionate about helping others find success.
I offer a training course on how to make better use of your networking initiatives. I train one man shops and huge corporations. There is a lot of information out there, but I have boiled it down to things about you;
Your proper mindset
Before you can be an effective networker
You at a networking event
You after the event
You networking online
The universe's relationship to networking
Historically, Networked has been many different things to many different people. I have clients that use us for biz dev, recruiting, training, consulting and coaching. Consider us the ultimate resource finder.
What can we do for you?

May 2006 — October 2007 (1 year 6 months)
I successfully found and onboarded sales reps in 32 markets across the Eastern half of the United states. This job offered great challenges and allowed me to meet some exceptional people.

May 2006 — January 2007 (9 months)
This is about to be VERY COOL. Stay tuned for more changes. http://cavtel.com/company/press/2006_12_15.shtml
My role is to attract and retain the BEST available sales talent in the markets we serve. I work with our sales management to determine their needs and find the resources to satisfy them. Once I find the right candidates I work them through a process that includes interviewing, assessments, offer stage and then getting them acclimated to their new team.
This is a great company for whom to sell. If you are a salesperson or know someone seeking a new position, contact me.
(Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; kfrc; Staffing and Recruiting industry)
October 2005 — April 2006 (7 months)
My primary role is to find technical folk. I spend the bulk of my time meeting technology professionals who want to work on either a permanent or contract basis. I am also in a position to help in the finance world. Quality candidates that are seeking work in either discipline are encouraged to contact Eric at ebielicki@kforce.com.
We are always seeking individuals with the following skills to work in the Detroit area:
SAP
Java
Unix admins
Project Managers
NW admin

December 2002 — January 2005 (2 years 2 months)
This was great conceptually. Unfortunately, we were long on ideas and a little short on implementation. Not having cash is always a killer. We built a CLEC that went from zero to a profitable sale in less than 28 months. We partnered with non-profit organizations and gave them a unique fund-raising opportunity through the sale of phone service. It was fun, good people and I learned some new things about both telco and myself.
(Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; Telecommunications industry)
January 2001 — May 2002 (1 year 5 months)
Helped end users make informed purchasing decisions as it pertained to phone service, internet connections and data storage/hosting. I had always held the view that I wasn't cut out for the corporate world. This position was as close to it as I got. I was there during the tech burst and we were hit hard. I learned and taught a lot of corporate finance. Of course, had I an interest in that, I would have learned about it outside of my sales career.

May 2000 — December 2000 (8 months)
Learned about Telecom and was reminded why I prefer to network as opposed to cold calling. This job was a doosy. The whole bust hit smaller companies before the larger ones (no kidding, tell us more Dr. finance). This little entity had a cool website and showed some promise as a national provider. What you didn't know until you got there is that unless you were in one of 6 markets (go figure, Detroit wasn't one of them) they were basically selling Long Distance. I wanted to sell VPN, hosting and Frame Relay, not quite the same thing. I also learned how to not manage people. Thanks CF.

October 1998 — May 2000 (1 year 8 months)
My firm networked other staffing firms in Columbus, Ohio to be able find/fill jobs quickly and correctly. Loves this job and the concept. In fact, as I have gotten back into recruiting, I have started networking recruiters again. Too many times recruiters have the right job or the right candidate. My thought has always been that 50% is better than 0%, It always struck me as odd when others didn't see it that way. Oh well, their loss.

October 1998 — May 2000 (1 year 8 months)
Lacking appropriate "type" for this. Was responsible for developing and recruiting individuals to be a part of Columbus' finest professional networking organization.

June 1996 — November 1998 (2 years 6 months)
Responsible for direct and contract placement of I.T. professionals.
Worked with several other job descriptions in this time.
M.A., Business Communications, September 1993 — August 1996
Selected for a Graduate Assistantship that allowed me to teach CTA 124. This was one of only 4 mandatory classes at E.M.U. It's kind of cool to get to try out a career at someone else's expense. I enjoyed the teaching, not so much the planning or the grading. It was interesting to teach people that were significantly older than I. Ran into a couple of people that didn't care for my humor. Actually, I don't know how much I would care for the humor that I possessed at 23. Oh who am I kidding, I still I think I am funny.
B.S., Psychology, 1989 — 1993
I quickly discovered that U of M was about 12 minutes away from E.M.U. Although I didn't have the grades to be accepted, I certainly had the wit. I enjoyed spending time in A2. I took a position as a bouncer in a bar and got promoted up through to management. Bartending was one of my best experiences in life. Met a lot of good people and enjoyed the exchanges. Good food, good drinks, good friends, good times. RIP O'sullivan's c.(1988-1995)
