Travis has been a forward-thinking interactive smartass since 1996. He was a stand-up comedian and he thought needed to create a website to promote his career.
He got online in a computer lab at the School of Journalism at the University of Kansas, was mesmerized and then built his first website within the next 48 hours.
Right out of college Travis worked at GTE Yellow Pages consulting with local business owners about their online and offline marketing. Realizing that most small business owners didn't get it. He set out to educate them and help them gain internet findability.
In the past 15 years, Travis has created or co-developed over 100 websites, including a site dedicated to independent musicians, artists, filmmakers and designers called MethodLaboratories then sold off the project. He also developed a customized t-shirt and apparel franchise in local malls, called DNA Customs and sold it.
Travis Wright then set up MediaThinkLab, a web development/ SEO/SEM company in 2001. He has created websites and optimized SEO and SEM marketing efforts for small to mid-size business owners and a couple Fortune 1000 companies.
This company was merged into Adiqus LLC, which later was rebranded as Advangel.
Travis was also the lead web design trainer at Centriq Foss in Kansas City. As a Certified Adobe Trainer, he taught all of the Adobe products, HTML, CSS, JS, etc. He also developed his own custom Search Engine Optimization training course.
He enjoys going to industry conferences such as ad:tech, Web 2.0, Search Engine Strategies, SXSW and has aspirations of speaking TED in the future.
