Tom Rector

My background includes three decades of food industry experience in sales, marketing, and executive management to my current role at Foodservice University. Since the beginning of my foodservice career, I have held various sales and management positions at the Keebler Company, as well as senior management and corporate officer responsibilities at the Specialty Brands division of International Multifoods, and Tri- Valley Growers; touching the retail, foodservice, and industrial food channels. In 2000, I established the effess group, a consulting practice focused on sales productivity and eBusiness initiatives for the foodservice industry. I purchased a partner share of Hospitality Training LLC (dba Foodservice University) and became President & CEO in February 2003.

My formal eductation includes a College of Business B.S./B.A. from The Ohio State University, M.B.A. studies from Capital University, and executive studies at The Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University.

For the last decade, I have concentrated on bringing sales productivity tools and applied technology to manufacturers, distributors, food sales agencies, and chain operators in the food channel. In addtion, I have become an expert voice in the area of Social Networking, assisting B-to-B clients with business applications to maximize the advantage of this powerful new communication and client development tool. I regularly blog, conduct webinars, and speak on the subject throughout the industry.
