Today's media and technology landscape is one of rapid change brought about by the collision of broadband, connected devices, and evolving video behaviors. In early 2004, I cofounded The Diffusion Group (TDG), a market research and advisory firm providing companies with the key insights to capitalize on these market shifts.

My role is firestarter, using ideas as kindling to enable the very smart people around me (both clients and colleagues alike) to successfully understand new markets, develop creative products, and stretch beyond the boundaries of stagnant thinking.

The days of “same bat time, same bat channel” are gone. Both time and place are moving from the control of broadcasters and service providers directly into the hands of the consumer. Whether in the home, on the go, and on the device of their choosing, consumers now expect to be able to access and manage their content experience as they see fit.

We call this the “Quantum Media” shift. At TDG, we are focused on this emerging ecosystem of digital video delivery – from the broadband connection to the home network to the devices and services being enabled.

TDG was created to be more than just a research firm. Our mission is to create actionable intelligence and work with our clients to future-proof each strategy. We have taken a “think tank” approach - a comprehensive and unique methodology that blends consumer researchers, sociologists, and executive industry consultants to help create a forward-looking view of the digital video market 3 to 5 years out.
