Tzu-Chiang Liou’s Summary

My research interest is open and collaborative culture, ranging from open source to open content, my approach is to understand the people, practice and facilitate the strategies into policy.

In the past few years, my major responsibilities are cooperating with existing partners and developing potential partnership via resource and relationship management both internally and externally. To develop tight relationship between different stakeholders, I work closely with local communities, open source service providers and system integrators. Most partners are in charged of web and information technology related position in their field, ranging from government, education, academic, community and business.

Major in social science aspect of technology, began as a software engineer, experienced in project management; I have strong passion about the interdisciplinary nature of IT/web industry, I’m anticipating to take challenges of all sorts.

    * In charged of hosting ICOS 2005 (International Conference of Open Source), and I was also the preparation team member of ICOS 2004 and 2006. ICOS is one of the important communities events in Taiwan and there’re more than 450 participants in ICOS 2005.

During the publishing period (two years and five months), the magazine incubated many seeds of free and open source software.

    I translated over 50 articles in 28 issues, mostly the columns of Marcel Gagne, Doc Searls and Don Marti. I also worked as a technical contributing editor (from issue 3 to 28) to make sure the correctness and the readableness of the articles.
