Ms. Stevenson brings her creativity to every project as the founder/director of Creative Cause which coordinated the 1st Washington Women & Girls Wellness Summit in Spring 2009. She also coordinated the first DC Victim Assistance Academy for the Mayor's Office on Victim Services and helped to launch the first DC Office on Women's Policy & Initiatives.
Prior to that, she was instrumental in developing media opportunities, speeches, and materials for the National Director on minority business development in the US Commerce Dept. Featured as a 'rising star' in 'Federal Computer Week' Magazine, she helped to build the Young Government Leaders brand.
After grad school she was selected as an Emerging Leader for the US DHHS Secretary's office. There she managed a wide range of projects from health IT, mental health, pandemic flu, diabetes to small business. While there she managed the Combined Federal Campaign to raise funds for charities for her office and was recognized with the Secretary’s Leadership Award for achieving 200% of the goal. Prior to HHS, she worked on media/marketing projects at CBS HealthWatch, WGBH-TV (PBS), Harvard Magazine, Hill Holiday, Kelley Chunn PR, Tufts Medical School, and Boston Black Women’s Health Institute.
With a M.S. in health communication from Tufts Medical School, she completed MBA coursework at Boston University. She obtained her B.S. in nutrition with a Spanish minor from Oklahoma State University. She studied and practiced community health in Dominican Republic on the David L. Boren National Security Education Scholarship. She received a certificate from New York University in partnership with the World Health Organization.
She served on the United Way of NCA Child Wellness Initiative Steering Committee, U.S. HHS' HIV/AIDS Prevention and Women Working Group. She is the VP of Metro Washington Public Health Association, Young Black Women's Health Forum member, and is a mentor.
