Looking for a creative way to use my unique background and make a positive impact. Open and willing to try anything, I am a firm believer that "you have to be present to win".
I spent over a decade as a DJ/touring artist/tastemaker, including long-term residencies, international engagements, recordings, collaborations, and promotions.
Before a hiatus following a huge multimedia public art event in Brisbane, Australia last year, I played music for a wide range of people in every situation imaginable including clubs, stadiums, jazz festivals, outdoor settings, radio appearances, and as part of performance art pieces, across the states and internationally. Highlights include being handpicked by Ani Difranco and Maceo Parker as opener for their summer 1999 F-Word Tour, playing for the Kronos Quartet with internationally renowned Chinese Pipa virtuoso Wu Man & co-writing her 2002 Naxos album, and press/content/sound tech coordination for a 5-continent, 48-hour webcast as part of composer William Duckworth’s award-winning Cathedral project. Hosted a weekly Internet radio show on Groovetech.com for over 3 years, during which I consistently published a corresponding playlist and e-zine for each show to develop audience and promote the artists played, while advocating for web-radio as a broadcast medium.
The skills I learned as I navigated changing trends and economies, international communications, publicity, legal matters, business practices, creative people, and career relationship building provide incredible value.
I have a serious interest in new media, philanthropy, music, trends, and patterns. I can bring in specialists from a strong personal network of skilled innovators and collaborators. I am the kind of person who needs to work hard, make an impact, get it done, and do some more.
Because I can do anything, I choose to work for companies that meet my standards for social responsibility on corporate and personal levels.
