Syl = "sill" | rhymes with "Bill" and "Will" | short for "Sylvester"
After spending 15 years working as a specialty marketer of garden roses, Syl left the horticulture industry to work full time as a commercial photographer and publication designer. Now that he's no longer a competitor, Syl has provided photographs to all of the largest rose marketers in the US. Talk about a niche...
Syl lives in Paso Robles -- the hub of California's central coast wine district. Not surprisingly, Syl is increasingly sought after for food and wine photography. Beyond the vineyard and the glass, Syl has also become known for this images of the people, lifestyles and spaces of California's central coast.
In an era where photographers are expected to specialize, Syl's nature is to work as a capable generalist. He blames that attitude on his unique name and crazy, curly red hair. His one true specialty is color-critical photography for CMYK reproduction.
