Max is the founder and principal of SafeCode, LLC, and the Editor/Prime contributor to My2Cents, a professional blog. He also hosts the Safety-Critical Professionals' Network, an multi-disciplinary information exchange for professionals involved in the development of safety-critical devices in any industry.
Max has been developing software since 1983. Much of his career has been devoted to the development and assurance of software and firmware for mission-critical and safety-critical systems as a consultant and contractor.
Max has served in development, QA, and verification roles on a number of such critical systems, including implantable medical devices, instrumentation for civil aviation, and industrial sensors and control devices. He has also lead development and maintenance efforts for secure infrastructure applications, such as driver license issuance and smart-card programming and personalization.
Max holds an M.S. in Computer Science, and an A.A.S. in Electronic Systems Technology. He also holds Certified Computing Professional (CCP) and Certified Systems Professional (CSP) designations from ICCP, with specializations in Software Engineering and Systems Development. He is a member of the International Association of Software Architects (IASA).
